Aussie expat Jaime Diskin carries on with Trevor Beattie at the Creative Circle Awards in London
By Jaime Diskin – I just wanted to send you an update from the Creative Circle Awards tonight.
Trevor Beattie (pictured with me) hosted the awards and the theme for the night was the ‘Carry On’ films – so there were lots of Sid James lookalikes and edible double entendres (see pic below).
TBWA/London picked up two silvers – one for the John Smith’s TVC campaign (co-written by Aussie expat Marcello Bernadi) and the other for the Skittles Update The Rainbow Social Media campaign. M&C Saatchi’s Graham Fink was also honoured with The President’s Award.
Trevor’s speech urged creatives to be more fearless and uncompromising, as he feared adland was becoming homogenous and was losing its most interesting people. We were really thrilled with the result and the chance to chat with one of the industry’s great characters.
Jaime Diskin is a former creative at Saatchi & Saatchi, Sydney, now an associate creative director at TBWA\London.

Yeah but ‘Disko’ had nothing to do with either of these wins? Looks like quite a fun night though. Odd post. I blame the grog.
Hey Sexyfingers,
I see you’ve given the beatnik terrorist look a wide berth.
A ‘Carry On’ theme? Cock and ball bangers n’ mash?
That’s highly evolved.
Also fearless and uncompromising.
