Assistance Dogs to raise awareness of Dogtober backed by new campaign via Leo Burnett, Sydney

Leo Burnett, Sydney has created a series of commercials for Assistance Dogs to raise awareness of Dogtober, a month to raise money for Assistance Dogs.
Ah puppies, their droopy little eyes make you want to scrunch them up into a ball and keep them in your pocket. Unless of course you’re John Cleese in which case you’d probably rather use them as a dishcloth.

Great work Wawa and Paz! Love em!
Guy this has you written all over it. Well done.
Why do people insist on having double credits? It’s like they want to mark their territory, let everyone know that they were there at every stage of the process. Personally, I find it very sad and extraordinarily paranoid. Guess that’s advertising!
I think these are great. Very funny.
Roland you are such a bell end. You sound very inexperienced.
Chill Roland I did the credits the creatives had nothing to do with it. Wawa, Paz, Guy, and Brendan all played a major roll in making these happen, as did our director editors and producers. Nice result guys I am proud of all of your hard work.
I wish to raise awareness of ‘October’. It’s a month in the Gregorian calendar wedged between September and Movember (formerly ‘November’) that has since been rebranded Rocktober, Ocsober and, most recently, Dogtober.
Marketing ideas most welcome. Stupid puns preferred.
Nicely put Andy.
So often there are negative comments on this blog questioning the amount of creatives credited on work. It’s bizarre. Do some people not understand the process that goes into stuff being made?
I bet Roland is feeling a bit sheepish now.
Roland?
… that you got to use Cleese. But not jealous of the finished product, sorry.
Why bother fighting about credits on such an average piece… Great cause but really???????
GO WAWA.. YOU DUCK!!!
Very cool spot, love it. #IdontworkatLeoseither
Confused and jealous no assistance for you insensitive twats. These are aw shucks cute and good and anyone that disagrees I hope you slip over in dog shit on your way home.
is it me, or are there only five days of october left? in which case, these ads are probably too little, too late, especially given they’re probably relying on free airtime. Never mind, at least the creatives got what they wanted?
Well observed, 3:47 – what with all the usual stuff-ups and delays, it’s almost Dogvember!
Simple. Funny. Great.
Nice!
I’d just prefer to comment on the ads.
Very charming spots… Love the writing. I love the fact that this client is taking the piss out of these little guys. I think it will work in spades.
And 3.47. Yes well observed. In dog years, October does only last 5 days.
Good on you Leos for doing something unexpected in this space that always seems to come a cross too worthy. This will disarm and delight the punters.
maybe that’s the plan 3.47- they get the agency to do it all for free and have saved their millions for a huge TV and cinema splurge in the last fading days of dogtober. First one to see these ads anywhere in the next few days wins a sad, forlorn, penniless puppy.
These will be running all year round re-appropriated simply as commercials for Assistance Dogs. If you have ever worked with celebrities you would understand timings don’t mean much to them particularly when donating their time.
Our primary viewership is intended to come from an online audience. In case you have been living under a rock, two things people really seem to love online are animals and celebrities.
I like dogs.
Cute!
accommodate the celebrity to miss the deadline..a happy client I’m sure.
well done guys. cute spot and hope you raise some good coin
