Seems pretty good to me. By not sensationalising the issue with cliched depictions of alcoholic excess, violence etc, this may reach out to the millions who think they haven’t really got a problem. And unless I’m particularly stupid, that would appear to be the brief.
Nice work guys. Restrained and powerful.
Noice.

I am a recovering alcoholic. I am also a copywriter. And I think this work is dead on. It made me shiver. Fucking well done.
I really like them, I think they’re very powerful. Thought: Would the shame one work as well if the genders were reversed? In other words, is a man supposed to feel shame if he wakes up next to a strange woman after a night of drinking?
These are lovely right up until the final frames when the typographical device staggers in like a family drunk, shouting about how clever it is. But they are lovely right up until there.
Seriously 5.13 what the hell are you talking about, it’s great subtlety, unless you’re being ironic? And if not, pray tell what would be your genius typographical solution? I think we’d all love to hear. Oh yeah and by the way, great ads, having been that kid in the closet, it hit a real nerve.
Really powerful. Made me shiver too!
Who directed these?
They were directed by Grant Sputore from The Penguin Empire
As an unashamed alcoholic, I think these could have been pushed further, beyond the cliches.
As an ad, they’re ok. Not brilliant, but very ok, and I hope it works.
