DDB has created two print ads for the 2012 Account Planning Group (APG) Creative Strategy Awards part of the ‘Fulfil Your Prophecy’ Call For Entries campaign.
The awards celebrate the outstanding contribution planning makes to great creative work and showcase the diversity of thinking from creative, media, digital, research, experiential and PR agencies.

Nice work fellas.
Planners comparing themselves to gods is not a unique insight, even when it’s presented with a bit of tongue-in-cheek humour and some stained glass. About as funny as this lot gets truthfully.
The real revelation is that this is how the creativity of advertising has been co-opted with everyone from the client’s marketing team to the agency’s suits to the ‘strategic’ planners thinking themselves as great idea people, when all they can do really is ask questions, frame a brief, and wait for the real creatives to come up with something unique that these ‘prophets’ can then throw at research, and edit and reshape and put what amount of their own smell on it that they can in order to turn around and call it their own.
It’s an erosion of the foundation of creativity really, and everyone knows what happens when the foundation erodes . . . the entire building is undermined, and we’re seeing the results everywhere these days.
Let the little gods celebrate themselves at their own piss up. ‘Fulfil Your Prophecy’ indeed. Just more bullshit from the self-made pulpit.
@stained I’m looking for someone to clean my stables, it’s easy work. If you are interested post your email address. It doesn’t pay much but it will be more than you deserve
@Groucho
I’m looking for someone to clean my toilet. It’s difficult work, as you know, but from your posts, I can tell that it’s work you’re accustomed to, and a chore you’re not only well suited for, but one you seem to enjoy.
If you are interested, post your email address. It pays well enough, as I believe in properly compensating those in our society who actually do the hard work, but the hours are flexible, so you’ll be able to keep your day job . . . presumably in strategy?
Stained,
I’m a Planner, but I really enjoyed your little rant then. Very entertaining.
Hey Ryano, if that really is your name, your own opinion, or did you have to consult research?
@stained you have taken my words,rearranged them, added a few ,and given it back. You must be in creative. Now there are a couple of ECDs out there who have built a career like this but doing it with your own work must be more satisfying.
I’ll pass up the offer to clean your toilet; if the shit you do is like the shit you write it will be too hard.
@Groucho
You have a keen eye for the obvious, and your remarks here remind me of Capote’s line about Kerouac, “That’s not writing, it’s typing.” While the cut may have been far too deep for Jack, it’s all too apt for your ‘contributions’ that pop up here and elsewhere from time to time.
Speaking of plagiarism, you’ve taken the moniker of a very talented man, building your name on these blogs with the allusion to a brilliant performer with the sharpest of wits, and probably the one of the greatest comedy writers of all time.
You should really give it back now, inasmuch as your defaming his name as you do is truly a disservice to the great man’s memory.
Allowing to carry on as you have would be far more than you deserve.
Toilet’s still there if you get peckish.
@Stained, given the standard of your response I must regretfully withdraw the offer of employment cleaning my stables. There are some things up with which my horses should not have to put.
My condolences to the horses. How embarrassing for them to be the possessions of someone with your obvious handicaps, and how embarrassing for us all that you’re allowed to be in possession of anything (stables, horses, a keyboard with access to the internet) other than your daily dose of medication.
Don’t forget the blue pill, it will calm you down and should return some partial sense of reality, assuming you’ve had that at a point in the not too distant past?
@stained……….you remind me of my old undies.
@Pitch Doctor
“you remind me of my old undies”? If that’s your best pitch, Doc? You just brought the average IQ of this site down to double digits. Try a new line of work, one that doesn’t require you to be clever.
“Stained” you really are a sad and bitter wee shite aren’t you?
I get it. ‘Scottie’, ‘wee shite’, wow just like ‘Train Spotting’ and 007, right? How cool.
Do you follow the Toon as well? One sympathises. Maybe Rangers . . . more sympathy.
Don’t know how you stomach the haggis though, and the black pudding, just awful, but maybe the diet accounts for the vocabulary . . . just a thought. What do you think? Well, maybe you’re the wrong person to ask that question.
Cute dogs too. They’re a bit ‘wee’ aren’t they. Seems like a trend in the far North.
Bat Guano,
No, Ryano is not my real name. My real name is Ryan. Yes, my opinion was my own. And no I didn’t consult research for my opinion.
My other opinion is that should leave the humour to Stained. Your attempt was lame, unintelligent, forced and not funny. I’m sure if I put it into research, the findings would be the same.

@Ryno
Better check.
Sorry Bat, research can’t save bad work.
Stained: another quality post that I laughed at; even if it was at my expense. Whilst I don’t necessarily agree with your beliefs, you certainly have comedy talent. I think I would enjoy working with you, even as you mock my contribution to the process. Kudos to you, I say. Kudos to you.
