ANZ’s ‘Barbara from a Bank’ back on air this Sunday in new campaign via DDB Melbourne
DDB Melbourne is launching a new ANZ television campaign this Sunday night about our improved ANZ Rewards credit card.
The new TVC will see the return of the character “Barbara from a Bank” to bring to life the concerns people have with credit card rewards programs: chiefly, that they perceive don’t deliver the rewards they want and they take too long to achieve rewards.

OK, thanks Barbara. Please go away now.
More dour rubbish. Creative is all over the shop, last week it was the security ads which are a world away from Barbie.
Made me smile. More than I can say for most bank ads. Simple as that.
7:10 has a valid point. Barbara’s quite amusing, but there’s nothing to link her with the other ANZ work, unless you can rationalise ‘quite amusing’ as the basis for a campaign.
awesome.
Security spots are from M&C, Barb from DDB. Client or agency responsibility for consistency?
A bit Little Britain meets those two fat chicks Magda Szubanski used to do on tellie.
I find the tone of the spot totally at odds with the brand. ANZ is a straight-laced bank. Check out the British CEO!
1.36 I thought the security spots were from DDB and Barb originally from M&C (but now this spot from DDB)? Obviously different internal client departments doing their own thing with not interest in consistency.
Great ad. Terrible strategy.

Computer says No…
Old Skool strategy
Little bit turned on by Barb right now…
Hahaha…Carrot.
Hahaha…A bank that lives in my world.
Oh dear.
I like it so does Australia.
can anyone please tell me who plays the customer in the “CARROT” ad?? My hubby thinks its the woman who played Zara the lawyer on the first series of Underbelly, but im sure its not. Cheers
Lena: He’s close. This is “Zarah” played by Kestie Morassi from Underbelly:
The actress in the ad is Anita Hegh from Stingers
Love the add, LMFAO everytime i see it.
Genevieve Morris is Barbara from Bank World not Anita Hegh
I think that Barbara should have her own sitcom…. it would be amazing. People all over the world would watch it… i have made a facebook group called “barbara from bankworld needs her own sitcom’ and it has had so much feedback. Please make this happen… it would take off!!!!!
Thanks, that is all
