AdNews has announced its Agency of the Year finalists, with winners to be revealed at a presentation dinner on 25 February. Belgiovane Williams Mackay, BMF, Clemenger BBDO and DDB Group are finalists for Creative Network of the Year; Droga5, Leo Burnett, M&C Saatchi and Three Drunk Monkeys are in the race for NSW Agency of the Year; and Clemenger BBDO, DDB and Leo Burnett are in the running for Victorian Agency of the Year. Emerging Agency of the Year finalists are JayGrey, 303, US and Ward6.

Jay and Spike have taken a Sydney agency on its last legs, renamed it, re branded it, given it a creative mission and have kicked out better work for difficult clients than all of us have done in the last two years or so.
So fuck off.
And no. I don’t work for them.
But I wish I did.

Jay’s done wonders with that place, just look at the calibre of the work they’re producing these days.
If you put the knives away for a moment, pick up a pen and write an ad, instead of slagging people off on the blog, maybe, just maybe, you’ll have your own agency when you grow up…?

10:18…Mojo did one great campaign and a couple less than average campaigns. They lost shitloads of business. I’m guessing that doesn’t stack up as the best story in the world.
No Patts for Vic agency of the year. Wrong town! They are the only Australian agency in the Gunn report this year. I don’t work for them, but I don’t get how some of these things are judged. Good luck to the others though.
Simmer down. Nobody said JayGrey wasn’t a fantastic agency doing great work. Grey’s own Australian website says they’ve been around since day dot. SapientNitro changed their name and Creative Boss too for instance. Are they eligible? Just what is the criteria for an ‘new’ agency?

Look at the jaygrey website..i did and was prepared to winge….it’s not very grey…looks like a new agency to me…and the work is strong…it should make most other agencies and i would think clients improve…i hope they continue to push coz makes my job of selling good ads easier.
I say well done everyone and tis a pity patts and mojo are not there and bwm and leo are are but hey its a game we all know that!
i looked for us online couldn’t find them, 303 is 303 years old and ward 6 has been around for as many years…..cookie crumbles all ways i guess.

Top bloke goes to bottom agency—–RESULT—-AGENCY FINALIST…..go figure!!!!! From nowhere to somewhere…talk about an agent of change. I take my hat off to anyone who can turn things around so quickly. It’s a rather different challenge then from going into an already established multinational! Go Furbs and Nobby..they are fighting the good fight with tight budgets and drive. RESPECT.

DDB won more business last year than any other agency in Australia. By almost twice according to the Adnews New Business table. Seems like a pretty good reason.
and their work shows how they win those pitches. nothing special, delivered with a smile
7:24 if you think work wins you many pitches these days you need to visit the part of your agency that processes your expenses and learn what a rate card is.
