Telstra sends message to the Troops this ANZAC Day weekend with integrated blitz via Droga5
Telstra, via Droga5 Sydney, has partnered with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to launch the Message to the Troops 2011 campaign encouraging Australians to send a message of support to our service men and women this Anzac Day long weekend. Message to the Troops, now in its third year, hopes to generate a record 30,000 messages in 2011.
For the first time, messages will be sent to Australian troops based on home soil serving in the important flood and cyclone recovery effort as well as those deployed abroad in countries including Afghanistan, Iraq, East Timor and the Solomon Islands.
Telstra has marshalled the support of its sports sponsorship partners – NRL, AFL, and Netball – whose players feature in the TVCs, coming together, urging fans to get behind the campaign, and send messages, with the rally cry ‘Whoever you support, support our service men and women’.
The campaign runs from today through to 11:00 pm, Tuesday 26 April, and encompasses PR, TV, press, magazine, online and social media.
Players featured:
NRL: St George Dragons Ben Hornby, Matt Cooper and Dean Young
NRL: Sydney Roosters Anthony Minichiello, Jason Ryles

Amazingly boring.
about time something good came out of droga 5
Thought D5 was a creative agency.
When did they change?
It’s for a good cause so I feel guilty bagging it….. but it’s so forgettable. Dull, dull, dull.
Nice going Droga – Renault, then this.
I hear Angus Houston is organizing the troops to send Droga 5 an Easter message…
Please list your favourite suggestions:.
mojo. the old froga dive.
Wow… if any other agency did this I probably wouldn’t comment.
Please take this as a compliment, I would have expected something a lot better from you guys.
Droga might get all three noms in next years ‘Best Exploitation of ANZAC Day for a brand’ category at ad industry awards.
Quite the specialist agency.
Nice to see even the office cleaners have input into D5 creative. Renault…and now this crap…nice work guys…you make the rest of us look really good…I mean….really, really good!
