Emotions of The WORLD MOVIES Channel
Sydney agency Mr Mumbles is exploring the full range of human emotions in a TV spot for The WORLD MOVIES Channel, the international cinema channel available on FOXTEL and AUSTAR.
The 30-second TVC, directed by Josh Logue of The Feds, aims to attract movie lovers who enjoy Hollywood blockbusters but want a deeper, more immersive movie experience. It focuses on the face of a viewer as he is transported to another world by The WORLD MOVIES Channel, experiencing a myriad of emotions including sadness, happiness, empathy and surprise. Animated action above his head illustrates the filmic journey that is triggering his emotional journey, which is also reflected in the original music score by Song Zu.
“The WORLD MOVIES Channel is a unique brand offering a unique viewing experience,” said Mr Mumbles creative partner Laurie Ingram. “We, or should we say, Josh and his team, spent many sleepless nights working on an animation style that really brought this experience to life, giving the audience an engaging 30-second taste of what’s in store for them.”
The WORLD MOVIES Channel CEO Linda Hickey said: “The channel prides itself on showcasing the best, award-winning cinema from around the world. Laurie and Andrew’s concept of taking the viewer on an emotional journey reflects the diversity and sometimes challenging nature of the films, of which over 80% are Australian Television Premieres. We’re delighted with the end result, which we are confident will resonate with a broad movie-loving audience.”
The spot will air across FOXTEL and AUSTAR channels from next week. It will also premiere at the cinema during the German Film Festival in Sydney and Melbourne. A print execution will follow.
This is the first campaign for The WORLD MOVIES Channel by Mr Mumbles since winning the account in February.

Great work guys.
“The 30-second TVC, directed by Josh Logue of The Feds, aims to attract movie lovers who enjoy Hollywood blockbusters but want a deeper, more immersive movie experience”. I don’t see how. The relationship between the guy’s performance and the animation around his head read as separate. Quite the contrary to a deep immersive experience….
things coming out of peoples brains again?
Nice work, gents.
been done… 10 times better… by daniel askill from collider for xbox

The acting is appalling.
Don’t know who the previous agency was but they couldn’t have been doing work that was worse than this, could they? I remember BWM doing some good work for this client on very small budgets.
Sledgehammer.
I think if I’d done this I wouldn’t be shouting about it. In fact, I wouldn’t even be mumbling about it either.
Awful.
And anyone who cares about quality film, the kind you might find on say… a World Movie Channel, could only feel this cheap, cliche of poor acting and bad special effects is better suited for the Disney Channel. Then again, they would’ve even had a bit more fun with it.
Waste of a good brief.
It’s better than a Mahindra spinning around matchbox car.
I like it
rubbish
I like slagging work off anonymously. Makes me feel better about the fact I don’t have a job or social life I enjoy.
Come to think of it, I don’t actually have a job.
I quite like it – though I reckon it would have worked better without the animation.
And the acting’s pretty good. Which numbnut said it wasn’t?
