donothing.jpgWhether it’s spending a night in, giving up take away coffee for a week or taking your lunch to work, Save the Children is urging Australians to give up something small for Syrian children as part of the Do Nothing campaign via Isobar, Melbourne.

Do Nothing challenges Australians to make a small sacrifice and donate the savings to Save the Children to protect and save the lives of vulnerable Syrian children impacted by the war.

Do Nothing STC 1.jpgTo support the campaign, Isobar designed and built a website; produced a TVC; designed outdoor advertising including train and ferry wraps and guerrilla posters; social media skins, corporate packs and banners.

Says Cameron McPherson, Save the Children’s marketing and direct channels manager: “We’re asking everyone to give up something small and donate the savings, which will make a huge difference for Syrian families and children.

“Giving up $100 or staying in for a night is enough to provide three sets of children’s winter clothes while $16 or not buying take away coffee for a week could give safe drinking water to 800 people for one day. Doing nothing is Do Nothing STC 2.jpgsuch a simple way to make a massive difference in the biggest humanitarian crisis of our generation.”

Funds raised through Do Nothing will help Save the Children continue its work in the region, which includes running education and emotional support programs, providing polio and other vaccinations and giving out warm blankets and daily food rations.

Isobar managing director Konrad Spilva said that with just a few weeks from briefing to launch, creating the unique Do Nothing campaign was a big team effort.

Says Spilva: “Everything came together so quickly because everyone gave up their time and talent to a really worthwhile cause.

“Tex Perkins and Felix Riebl from the Cat Empire helped by producing the voice over and a unique soundtrack for the campaign video, while Mitchells and Gravia Media secured valuable media placements.”

Says McPherson: “More than 4 million Syrian children have had their lives ripped apart, with many forced to flee their homes, often in the middle of the night with nothing but the clothes on their back.

“It’s a heartbreaking situation, but aid agencies like Save the Children are on the ground in Syria and surrounding countries providing critical support to children and families.”

Supporters can make their pledge and donate at www.donothing.org.au or watch and share the campaign video here.
