WV1.jpgWorld Vision has joined hands with Flint Interactive for the launch of its latest campaign. The non-profit organisation is well known for leading the charge against poverty, namely supporting underprivileged children in developing countries.

The partnership between the two entities came about after World Vision identified the need to revitalise their current sponsorship structure. The brief was to create an online space where people from all over the world could connect, share their dreams and in  the process better relate with the dreams of the World Vision sponsored children.

Flint’s solution; an engaging community based microsite that leverages viral reach by encouraging users to support the movement through #dreamshare.

Flint’s design team aimed to create a website that emotively tied the target audience to the World Vision children.

Says Jeremi Flor, Flint’s interactive designer: “We found children convey their dreams through drawings. There’s something pure, simplistic and relatable about this idea. We felt a sketchy look and feel best reflected this idea.”

A standout feature of the site is the interactive map; which constantly generates location markers of dreams shared.

The global nature of the campaign called for the use of different technical solutions to provide users with a seamless experience. Amazon Web Services was used for faster content delivery globally. Embed.ly allows users to submit content from various platforms including social, and Backbone was used as a framework to manage interactions.

Says Lindsey Talerico-Hedren, World Vision’s production manager: “Without Flint’s creative input and work, it (the campaign) would certainly not be what it is today. We hope this campaign will help achieve more in the way of conversation with our audience.”
