jhbdsc.jpgAustralia Post, working with the Australian Football League (AFL), has chosen leading AFL players from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures, as multicultural ambassadors to front a new campaign via Bengar Films.

Their role is to promote the values and benefits of inclusion and diversity in our communities.

Media Release_Bengar_100713.jpgWith AFL Multicultural Round approaching, Bengar was engaged by Australia Post to create a

campaign to show how the partnership between Australia Post and the AFL helps build healthier, more vibrant communities.

The campaign of three commercials launches this week on Fox Footy and AFL grounds around Australia, featuring Harry O’Brien, Bachar Houli and Nic Naitanui.

The campaign for Australia Post is the latest work created by independent agency Bengar Films in Melbourne. Directed by Bengar’s founder Ben Gartland, produced by Nathan Primmer and shot by John Wheeler ACS.

Says Gartland: “Given four-hours to shoot the three ads, we relied on creating situations where we could find magic in the children and help paint out a visual story for the players. With a foundation in documentary storytelling, we have become pretty comfortable filming this way, with a small crew on the run. It’s always exciting.

“With this campaign for Australia Post and the AFL, we’ve set out to show children being included and coming together through footy. Our multicultural audiences might not speak English as their first language, so it was important that the story was told simply in pictures. We love creating deeper connections with audiences from all walks of life – we hope you enjoy.”

Also, this week, Bengar has been appointed as Australia Post’s agency to create branded content for their ‘Our Neighbourhood’ website and national community programs.
