Deja View: US university accused of ripping off Aussie Move/Eat/Learn campaign for STA Travel

Tim White is one of the guys who made the Move/Eat/Learn campaign for STA Travel last year. Recently however, Southern New Hampshire University in the US appears to have blatantly copied the idea in a multi-million dollar national campaign of their own.
White called them out on it on the SNHU Facebook page yesterday, so far attracting 172 Likes and 43 comments, all of them taking his side.

yeah maybe the execution was a little inspired. especially with the dude turning around and walking back.
but it’s not like they ripped off an ‘idea’. plus, i don’t think the STA ad was the first time this technique has been used.
That execution has been done for a whole raft of things.
I don’t think the lawyers of SNHU will be sweating on this one.
It isn’t that much of a great idea to be worrying about it anyway.
Tim needs to learn the difference between a technique and an idea.
A long time ago in a galaxy far away . . . People could rip off idea’s and techniques till the cow’s came home. Inspiration was drawn from award annuals, plagiarised and reinvented. Scenes from whole films recreated and executed within an inch of the borrowed idea it was in the 1st place…
I’m sure Tim’s technique / execution was inspired by something else originally . . . shock horror, it may well have been on YouTube.
Sure it’s not right or even fair; but get over yourself Tim there’s nothing to be gained but frustration. Just point it out as a form of flattery when next presenting your reel.
