Australia’s Cannes Contenders: Ogilvy Sydney, Saatchi Sydney and DDB Group Melbourne
How will OZ perform at Cannes this year? In the lead up to the Festival, Campaign Brief showcases the work we hope will impress the judges…
Ogilvy, Sydney
Coca-Cola put Aussies front and centre by printing people’s names on millions of bottles (for the first time ever) as a social invitation to find the names of friends and family and encourage them to connect and ‘Share a Coke’ together. The launch saw the country’s 150 most popular names appear on labels during summer, encouraging them to ‘Share a Coke’ with one another.
Saatchi & Saatchi, Sydney
To test the toughness and reliability of the new Toyota FJ Cruiser, Satchi & Saatchi Sydney dropped two city guys in the middle of nowhere. The idea was to create online and broadcast content that allowed Australia to follow their journey back to civilisation. One Way In. One Way Out.
DDB Melbourne
Home to the largest range of denim in Australia, Jeanswest commissioned DDB Group Melbourne to create an interactive tool to help customers search for the perfect pair of jeans. The iDenim Match brings the jeans to life with 54,000 images stitched together to make swipeable and sizeable high res movies via an iPad and a big screen, making choosing easier and fun.
DDB Melbourne
In an environment of uncertainty and rising energy costs, Origin’s Sustainability Drive was a competition that challenged Australian street communities to band together and reduce their impact on the planet. The idea behind the integrated campaign was to show the transformation of the four winning Australian households as they take the Sustainability Drive journey.
DDB Melbourne
DDB Group Melbourne and the Reach Foundation partnered together to create an awareness campaign called ‘The Open Book Project’. They wanted to show teenagers that everyone, even the most famous and successful people in Australia, went through exactly the same stuff once. So they asked celebrities for their teenage diaries which in turn became online and above the line communications.
