Vegemite launched ‘Toast of a Nation’, an integrated campaign that honours the extraordinary achievements of everyday Australians who are ‘made from Vegemite’. Vegemite undertook a nationwide search for 25 everyday Aussies who embodied the values of Vegemite and spirit of Australia, crowning the most unique and exceptional as the ‘Toast of a Nation’. Australians were invited to share the remarkable stories and achievements of themselves and people they know by nominating at vegemite.com.au  Vegemite is profiling the journey and achievements of five sets of Australians in a new series of television commercials, and online documentaries.

Arnold Furnace, Sydney

Huawei makes affordable smart phones for a young but relatively cash-poor demographic. The task for ArnoldFurnace, Sydney was to launch the brand in Australia, with a focus on making them as desirable as possible – both in what they offer as smart phones, and their image as a new brand. These superlight/6-sheet posters ran at bus shelters, train stations and other sites with long dwell time, and managed to establish an immediate impact and rapport with the target.

The campaign highlights the Peugeot 308 Touring and its impressive panoramic glass roof. The roof floods the cabin with light and space, providing a window on the world and a feeling of being at one with your surroundings. Titled ‘Hitchhikers’, the campaign shows various outdoors elements trying to hitch a ride in the car, with the strapline ‘Let The Outside World In’. The campaign was shot by Alan McFetridge, part of the team at Alan & Gretchen.

The spot, “Afternoon Delight”, begins with a woman being stood up by her lover. Home alone and determined not to let the afternoon go to waste, she decides to put on some music, have a dance, pop the champagne and see where the mood takes her.
