Chris Carr appointed managing director of Mediabrands Analytics
Mediabrands Australia executive chairman Henry Tajer has appointed Chris Carr (pictured), as managing director of Mediabrands Analytics, the research and data modeling division of the Mediabrands group.
Carr is formerly general manager, customer analytics, for Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He has extensive experience in leading the transformation of companies in the analytics space and was recently one of the prime leads for the CBA’s recent customer platform evolution, which is the biggest of its kind in Australia business.
Says Tajer: “Analytics is an area of intense importance to our future, how competitive we are as a group and for our clients’ businesses. In this area we compete with a raft of professional service firms, research companies and creative agencies to name a few, as well as the expected competition from media agencies in their various forms.”
Tajer added: “Chris’ appointment is designed to place us directly in competition with the best businesses in this complex field, because as we all know the real value in data is how it is managed and leveraged to create actionable insights and solutions. Companies use data in many different ways and it is critical that we invest in having the most progressive and capable operation to stay ahead of the market and to continue to be the architects of contemporary marketing solutions in Australia.”
Carr starts his new role on April 2nd. Mediabrands Analytics current managing director, Clare Fernando, is taking a new role as executive director of the division and will work with Carr on further enhancing Mediabrands Analytics appeal to new client partnerships.
Says Carr: “I am attracted to the diverse communications skills within the Mediabrands portfolio, as well as the complexity of some of the client portfolios. Well managed research and analytical insights can have a profound effect on a company’s decision making and I am looking forward to helping lead this function at Mediabrands.”
