Planner Carl Ratcliff leaves Elvis in London for managing director role at BWM Melbourne

Ratcliff comes to BWM Melbourne from London where he was executive planning director at Elvis Communications, the Cossette Group’s award-winning integrated, direct and digital agency, and has had senior planning roles at Lowe and TBWA London.
He fills the vacuum left after the departure of previous managing director Hugh Nairn to join Ted Horton’s agency Big Red back in August last year.

Most recently Ratcliff worked on leading brands Waitrose, Sky, Sony Playstation and Cadbury Schweppes. He is a winner of the Marketing Society’s Award for Excellence Grand Prix for the Waitrose Essentials campaign and during his time at Five, Ratcliff was responsible for creating the award-winning relaunch of the main brand as well as overseeing the relaunch of Five USA.
BWM Group CEO Paul Williams said Ratcliff’s appointment positions the Melbourne office to build on the success of the past 12 months.
Says Williams: “We have been scouring the globe for an individual with the right talent to lead our Melbourne division to the next level and we have found that person in Carl.In addition to his gold class background in strategic planning, Carl also brings a unique combination of strategic smarts, global experience and relationship management at a senior level. His appointment is a great addition to our talented Management Board which includes Melbourne creative director Shaun Branagan.”
