Revolver’s Justin Kurzel awarded at AACTA – wins Best Direction for debut feature film Snowtown
Revolver director Justin Kurzel has been awarded the AACTA (AFI) Award for Best Direction for his debut feature film, Snowtown.
The award ceremony was held at Sydney Opera House last night where the film also picked up both Best Lead Actor and Best Supporting Actress awarded to Daniel Henshall and Louise Harris respectively.
Produced by Warp Films, Snowtown was the only Australian film to be selected for the prestigious Critics’ Week as part of the 2011 Festival De Cannes. The film, which tells the story of John Bunting, one of Australia’s most notorious serial killers, was shot in South Australia in August 2010.
Kurzel is represented by Revolver for commercials.
