Starcom MediaVest chief John Sintras celebrates 30 years of outstanding success in the business
Starcom MediaVest chief John Sintras has celebrated his 30th year in the business, a period of outstanding dedication and service that has seen him become one of the Australian media industry’s most respected executives.
Sintras (pictured far left with Kevin Malloy and Chris Nolan) began his advertising career as a trainee with Leo Burnett Sydney in 1982 where he went on to hold the position of media director before broadening his focus by becoming general manager of the Leo Burnett Sydney office.
In mid 1999 Sintras returned to the media business to launch the Starcom brand in Australia and in January 2001 became chief operating officer. After 25 years of dedicated service, Sintras was appointed CEO in June 2007.
Chief operating officer Chris Nolan led the congratulations. Says Nolan: “John’s passion for and commitment to the continual development of our people, product and his influence across the network is significant. As the Chair of the Global Product Committee and a member of the Global Management Group, he has ensured that Starcom Australia leaves an indelible mark on the global Starcom business.”
Sintras’ influence has also been felt by the media industry and broader Australian community. He has held positions with the Media Federation of Australia, Australian Association of National Advertisers, Advertising Standards Bureau, Audit Bureau of Circulations, OzTAM and other broader community organisations such as the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Australia
Nolan added: “John has made a meaningful and significant contribution to the lives of many young media executives, and the Australian community. Everyone at Starcom Australia thanks John for his incredible effort, energy and passion over 30 years.”
