CB Exclusive – Each one of the MCC’s 42 Laws of Cricket laid down in 1788 is re-written in this series of print ads for Cricketers Arms Lager via DDB Melbourne.

So much effort, so little reward. Kind of like the beer.
DBBBBoring.
These are pretty looking ads. That’s about it really. It seems when it comes to writing powerful ideas or great copy for that matter, DDB is sadly exposed for what it is…dull.
Pity because there is no lack of art direction skills in the place. Perhaps too much..

Looks like the work of some frustrated writer who fancied himself as a comedian.

Not interesting for those who like cricket. Not interesting for those that like beer.
Not funny either. As far as art direction goes, seen plenty of ads like them.
No charm, no wit, don’t evoke any emotional response other than disappointment. Pretty fertile opportunity, very poor result.
I liked them. Better than most of the the stuff on here.
Entertaining, pretty, but not compelling.
‘the TOP ORDER’ is good though.
