Mick Stalker promoted to deputy creative director to lead Colenso BBDO’s fast-turnaround offer
Colenso BBDO today announced that Mick Stalker has been promoted to deputy creative director and will head up Colenso BBDO’s fast-turnaround offer.
The move is another step in the evolution of the agency, which is broadening its skill base according to its clients’ needs.
Says Colenso BBDO managing director, Nick Garrett: “We’ve been listening to our clients, most of which want to work with a fully integrated agency, and that includes the need to turn around large volumes of work quickly and cost effectively.”
“We are thrilled to announce Mick’s appointment as deputy creative director and head of this side of our business. He has made a valuable contribution to the agency’s past achievements, as well as the overall culture and leadership, and it is the obvious next step in his career,” says Colenso BBDO’s creative chairman, Nick Worthington. “
Worthington continued: “Mick has already started to build a really strong team around him. It’s awesome to see both talent and drive in such a good bloke.”
Stalker has spent 14 years in the advertising industry, four and a half of those with Colenso. He has worked across all aspects of the business, winning both local and international awards for his work, including a D&AD in book award and gold at Spikes Asia
Says Stalker: “In a fragmented market with challenging budgets, a good agency should be able to turnaround a variety of work in the time-frames required. You need to be able to produce the big ideas, while also being able to produce high-quality work in the fast-paced retail environment.”
Garrett says the appointment signifies a renewed focus on the fast-turnaround side of Colenso’s business and Mick’s appointment highlights their growing investment in this area.
