Advertising and public relations recruitment specialist rebrands to sandy oldham people
Sydney-based advertising and public relations recruitment agency Sandy Oldham Consulting has recently rebranded to sandy oldham people, with a new visual identity developed by award-winning advertising writer Jane Caro and art director Stephanie Martin.
The rebrand, which includes a complete corporate identity lift, new website and office branding fit out, aims to better reflect the company’s new directional focus and business development growth.
The company was originally established back in 1998 by founder Sandy Oldham, and the name change better reflects and aligns the two existing divisions ad people and pr people (which was established in 2007 and is jointly owned by Sandy Oldham and Lynnette Edmonds).
Says Oldham: “Our clientele, which includes the entire communications industry but more specifically the advertising and public relations sectors, will now have a better understanding of our total offering. This is a more synergistic presentation of our business.”
In early 2011, the company engaged the services of Through the Looking Glass director Vivian Rowden to conduct market research with both recruitment clients and candidates to better understand its brand positioning. The research revealed that whilst most industry recruiters provide little differentiation that Sandy Oldham had some unique service offerings.
“Whilst some of our competitors are large and corporate our boutique offering is preferred in some respects,” explains Oldham. “We understand the importance of cultural fit as our staff have all worked in the industries that they are recruiting for. Therefore, we work strategically with our clients and don’t just fill roles as they come up but often work in partnership with our clients – helping to build teams.”
sandy oldham people has developed a number of strategic industry affiliations with Australian and overseas recruiters, including FBI Sydney, to help qualify who are the most creative suits and to better equip its candidates to make career transitions overseas. The company also provides career counsel to candidates, sponsorship of the APG and the PRIA Awards as well as guest lecturing at AdSchool and APM.
The new corporate identity aims to reflect these values more appropriately. “It’s always good for a brand to reflect the personality of its company and the team at sandy oldham people strike me as warm, sophisticated and elegant so that’s what we were looking to achieve with the new visual identity,” adds Caro.
