Match Media creates Facebook challenge for Can Teen’s National Bandanna Day – Friday 28th Oct.
Match Media has unveiled its campaign for CanTeen’s National Bandanna Day on Friday 28th October.
Each year in Australia, over 1,000 people aged between 15 and 25 are diagnosed with cancer and 1 in 100 Australians are diagnosed with cancer by the age of 30. It is the leading disease killer of young people in the country.
Says Nick Wokes, communications strategist at Match Media: “Because CanTeen exists to support, develop and empower young people living with cancer, we targeted parents who were most likely to feel empathy, having children of their own,”
Together with a magazine and radio campaign, Match Media is employing social media via Facebook to get the message across. The campaign encourages parents to share their photos and also their stories on Facebook. The audience can also get involved by demonstrating the quirkiest, most original way to wear a CanTeen bandanna then uploading their photo to the National Bandanna Day Facebook page.
“Wearing your CanTeen bandanna is a powerful gesture that demonstrates to all young people living with cancer that they are supported and they are not alone. So we are asking all Australians to get involved in this fun photo challenge to raise awareness and show you care,” said Claire Treadgold, CanTeen’s national program manager.
