New blood challenges Brisbane ad executives in ‘Blood Transfusion’ panel show tomorrow night

Queensland Youngbloods will be challenging advertising executives from agencies across Brisbane in their very own ‘Blood Transfusion’ panel show tomorrow night (Tuesday, October 11), at The Hi-Fi.
To get senior creatives to turn up and mingle with the youngens, a couple of members brewed up a keg load of bespoke ale to bottle up and hand out to Brisbane’s top creative shops. The beer bottles were left blank, except for a single QR code that would lead the scanner to a blogsite that would tell them about the event, the beer and held a little video that explained the whole idea.”
Youngbloods is a network that brings together young professionals working and studying in the advertising, marketing and media industries to share ideas and experiences.
Chairperson of Queensland Youngbloods, Tom Walter wanted to deliver an event that gave young professionals the opportunity to openly and intellectually discuss advertising with some of the industry’s greats: “The Blood Transfusion is an opportunity for us to showcase the professionalism and creativity of the Queensland advertising industry to a younger generation.
“Despite these agencies pitching against each other on a daily basis, they’ve shown they’re up for the challenge, with a huge response from some of Queensland’s biggest and most innovative agencies,” Walter said.
The MC for the night is Shaun Conroy, copywriter at Junior and the panel consists of Jonathan Drapes, Creative Director at Junior; Brendan Greaney, Creative Group Head at George Patterson Y&R; Jess Huddart, Creative Director at Josephmark and Ralphie Barnett, Associate Creative Director at Sapient Nitro.
Prizes include an AdSchool course valued at more than $1,000 for the winner of the pitch, as well as an AdSchool workshop valued at more than $600 and a lunch with an industry professional in any chosen field.
The Blood Transfusion will be held on Tuesday, October 11 from 6:30pm at The Hi-Fi, West End. Tickets are $15 and are available here.
