Design firm Landor Associates appoints Dominic Walsh to Sydney managing director role
Landor Associates, a strategic brand consulting and design firm, today announced the appointment of Dominic Walsh to managing director of its Sydney office – effective 2 November.
Walsh’s appointment signifies a return to Landor for him; he was previously with the firm from 2003 to 2006, during which time he generated more than $5 million in new billings for the firm.
Following his departure from Landor, Walsh successfully built Blue Marlin’s Australian arm, first as general manager in Melbourne, then as managing director in Sydney. Over the last year, Walsh has been managing partner at DDB subsidiary, Interbrand’s Sydney office.
Says Walsh: “I believe Landor’s global presence and active network presents a significant advantage to our clients and I am very much looking forward to returning to the Landor family.”
Walsh’s return as managing director is a reflection of the firm’s increased focus and commitment to the Southeast Asia and Pacific region. He joins a successful, local Landor team that has expanded its core offering and client base in recent years. Walsh succeeds Nick Foley, current managing director of the Sydney office, who in 2012 will relocate to Singapore to take on a regional role.
Says Foley: “Clients are increasingly looking for effectively integrated brand experiences and Landor’s global perspective and resources are unparalleled in the Australian and Southeast Asian market. Dominic’s return will bring experienced leadership and fresh energy to our fast-growing operations in this region.”
