99 dsigns.jpgHot on the heels of its Australian launch, 99designs , the world’s largest online market for crowdsourcing design, has combined forces with Dynamic Business magazine to illustrate how dynamic its designers can be.

Dynamic Business will crowdsource its November issue cover via 99designs.

Publisher and editor Jen Bishop will shortlist eight designs, and readers will be encouraged to vote on their favourite, which will represent the magazine in news agencies across Australia next month.

In addition to having the privilege of designing the cover of Australia’s leading small business magazine, the winner will also receive $1,000 and a profile in the publication.

Jen Bishop said the decision to crowdsource the cover was a way to give back to the business community through supporting designers while allowing readers to engage with the brand through voting.

Says Bishop: “The reason we’re thriving while other print magazines are struggling is because we have a strong relationship with our readers and actually ask them what they want,” she said. “We love receiving their feedback and I think it’s a great way to encourage their involvement.”

Crowdsourcing is not new to Dynamic Business. In 2009, readers nominated social media expert Iggy Pintado as the cover star for the November issue. However, the current 99designs contest will be a departure from the magazine’s usual photographic cover.

“Crowdsourcing is a big phenomenon in business at the moment. I can see how using 99designs could be a great way for small businesses to get professional, affordable graphic design services,” adds Bishop. “We all know how much difference a slick, impressive corporate identity can make to a business.”

Jason Sew Hoy, chief operating officer at 99designs said the benefit of 99designs is that it creates opportunities for designers all across the globe to showcase their talents on a level playing field.

Says Sew Hoy: “The Dynamic Business competition is another great example of designers getting an opportunity to elevate their profile by being featured in a leading Australian business magazine. With over $1.2M being paid out to designers every single month, there’s never been a better time for designers to pursue their passion, whether it be print design, logo design, web or t-shirt design.”

The deadline for submissions is October 11, 2011.
