AWARD selects Nick Law as chairman of judges – AWARD awards call for entries is now open
As the AWARD Awards call for entry opens, AWARD, Australia’s pre-eminent creative industries body, announces Nick Law, EVP and chief creative officer at R/GA as the 2011 AWARD Awards chairman of judges.
Law (pictured) is regarded as one of the most influential creative people in the digital field, in charge of defining the creative vision of one of the world’s most admired digital agencies. He’s internationally recognised as a thought leader and has been awarded for his work with enviable brands such as Nike, Walmart, HBO, Johnson and Johnson, IBM, L’Oreal and Google.
Craig Davis, AWARD Chairman, said that Law’s international perspective and extensive experience in awards judging worldwide would be welcomed in the region.
Says Davis: “We’ve started to involve leading international talent to guide the AWARD judging. Nick is extremely well credentialed and the first Chairman of AWARD judging who is not from a traditional agency background. Nick’s a provocative thinker and I’m thrilled that he will lead the quest to recognise the best creative work in the region.”
Law will oversee the judging of an awards program that has undergone significant changes.
The 2011 program will see the introduction of a new category in Promotion and Experiential, which focuses on awarding creativity in promotional campaigns.
Other changes include the launch of a special award for Production Company of the Year, the launch of a New Product Development category honouring new, innovative and manufactured products for brands and clients, as well as changes to the Radio, Digital and Craft in Film categories.
“As champions of commercial creativity, AWARD sees the interplay between creatives, clients and consumers as ever evolving and the awards both reflect and set the standard for that evolution,” commented Davis on the changes.
The AWARD Call for Entries is now open , and closes on November 3, 2011. Early bird entry fees are applicable until September 30, 2012.
The AWARD show will take place on March 29, 2012, as part of The Communications Council’s Circus, held March 27-29, 2012.
