John Doorley – international Madman of mystery
The J&D online creative network has active, specialist creative associates in Australia, USA (Hawaii, California and New York), UK (London), Europe (France and Portugal), Singapore and New Caledonia.
This MADMAN for hire creative business idea was inspired by Aussie expat adman John Doorley’s global “gypsea” surfing and writing lifestyle.
Doorley sold out of his Sydney agency Doorley Abrams Davis & Chapman in the late 90s and he’s now based in the USA.
His home office base is now on Boat Beach, Seal Rocks, California. His gorgeous 12 year old daughter Ava Manhattan Doorley lives in New York City. Doorley visits Ava in NYC twice a year – at Xmas and on her birthday in June.
Given there’s not much quality, unpolluted surf in NYC, he then travels to Paris and down to his other home office base in Guethary on the French south west Basque coast.
There Doorley has a Ford Transit mobile home truck and he usually “surfaris” and writes online down the Spanish and Portugal west coasts and back each year.

Hopefully this new whizz bang creative service will come with its own ideas rather than recycling them from the show it has nicked its concept from !
This confirms that advertising lacks originality especially after plagerising a great tv show into a lame marketing idea – by the way how did you secure the copyright? A little bit of knowledge is dangerous.
What campaigns has this John created here or abroad over the past ten years?

Hey Madman, aka adman, you legend. Reading the puff piece above I wonder how you would have the time to meet with anybody. Where would we meet, ‘Boat Beach Seal Rocks California’ or is that Seal Rocks NSW, somewhere on the French coast, or in la la land?

Oh Madman, you of borrowed identity, I am indeed ignorant and negative and therefore wholley unworthy of your exalted presence. Besides what with all that travel, laughter, going to the beach and the bank (try on line banking it doesn’t use up beach time) I’m sure you couldn’t fit me in. Besides, what a precedent we would set by encouraging duelling amongst your peers merely because one is irritated. I do appreciate the offer, but perhaps we are at differing stages of our evolution.
