aamia.jpgAfter last year’s spectacular ceremony on Sydney’s Cockatoo Island, anticipation can start to build again as AIMIA officially opens its call for entries for the 18th Annual AIMIA Awards.

The AIMIA Awards are an annual celebration of the best work from Australia’s Digital Content, Services and Applications Industry across a broad range of consumer, business, government and not-for-profit categories.

Says John Butterworth, AIMIA CEO: “Each year the AIMIA Awards celebrate the best work of the Australian and New Zealand digital industries across a broad range of categories. Once again this year, we have seen some fantastic campaigns and projects, and we look forward to recognising and celebrating the very best talent and innovation our industry has to offer.”

A new category has been added this year, with the first ever ‘Innovation award’ on offer to the recipient who can demonstrate the most innovative use of the digital medium. Entries for this award should be able to demonstrate a significant impact on the digital landscape in the last year.

As well as the addition of a new accolade, this year’s awards see a number of minor amendments to categories. Entrants are encouraged to check out the list of updated category descriptions on the AIMIA website.

The Annual AIMIA Awards are the longest running and most prestigious Awards in Australia’s Digital Industry. Entries for the awards open today, Wednesday 14th September and close at 5pm AEDT on Friday 21st October, 2011. Winners will be announced and celebrated at the 18th Annual AIMIA Awards ceremony in Sydney in March 2012.
