There are many hazards associated with surf culture but Australian Surfer Sunblock however, can only protect you from the Sun. New work from Bondi Advertsing, Sydney.

dont suppose it protects you from comments either
Oh so bad.
As a surfer, these ads make me want to avoid buying it. Especially the locals only one.
Nice insight. No pun intended
Not brilliant but the main problem is that two executions are fun and one is nasty. It’s confused from a tone point of view.
Don’t be a slave to three.
Is this an Award School entry?
I completely disagree with Mark. put me down for 2! yew.
Hang 10, I think the tonality of these is consistent as I don’t think any of them intend to be fun or nasty, rather just a range of observations into this lifestyle. Take the Prius up or down the south coast an hour away and see for yourself.
Bondi cigar?
My adman says they are selling the category.
My indifferent punter says they are funny.
As a jeep lover i find the jeep one quite horrifying and would level the town to the ground if they did that to my jeep.
You can tell it’s a left-hand-drive Jeep. The brake master cylinder is on the wrong side.
Totally ruins it for me.
I think the first one is lost, and a tighter frame may have worked better. The jeep one..yeah I see it, it’s a bit 90’s though/award school obvious.
As for the second I have a big thing for pregnant women so I would buy anything you shoved on that poster.
Overall not great, not bad either, kind of in that dangerous no mans land where the other 2995 ads you see that day which you forget live.
I have a soft spot for an old school nicely executed solid print campaign. will not set the world alight but pretty good when compared to the most of the crap out there. just look at some of the work on the blog preceding this.
Kind of a bit safe for me. Surfers. Suntan lotion. Surely, you could nail a career-defining campaign.
no matter how you might spin this…. it’s seriously…. ordinary
Hey Kelly, congratulations on your win in Tahiti.
Assuming these are aimed at surfers in the relevant pubs then job done
cheers Mark, if only that sunblock protected me from the reef!
Mark, I think your comment should have read “as an older-not-the-target market surfer…” The insights are real, and a bit of light hearted fun for the most part. And a jeep wrangler is fair game for setting on fire, whatever the product.
Pity the term Sunblock is not permitted in Australia under the AS/ZS 2604:1998
Name of product is sunblock. Description on pack is 30+ sunscreen. All approved. Sorry to ruin your hate
At least they used a realistic shadow coming from the pack shot, individually crafted to each ad, instead of a generic one that looks like it was photoshopped by a 12 year old.
And these ran where?
