Republik launches Rugby World Cup tv spots for Xbox360 because this year there’s only one game

There’s only one game we’re living, breathing and playing this year.
New Zealand indy agency Republik has produced new 30″ and 15″ spots to run across Australia and New Zealand for
Xbox 360 to launch the official Rugby World Cup 2011 game.
By showing people giving in to the urge to play rugby while playing another sport, they demonstrate just how addictive the game play is.

Nice spot of advertising… Great tone and pace to it. Especially like the timing with the freeze frame and super. Good work all.
Loved it. Always have.
If only everything was more like hockey.
Feels like I’ve seen it before. I think Coxy is right, it’s been done for Ice Hockey.
I saw on telly last night and it really stood out. Shot on a shoestring too I bet.
Congrats.
they could have at least chosen different sports to rip off. The Ice Hockey ads used golf and bowling. Even the supers look very similar.
Very average on the CD’s behalf.

It does look similar but it is a different idea.
And yes, they should’ve used other sports.
BUT it is a different idea.
I can’t believe how many people in the industry don’t know what an ‘idea’ is.
PS I preferred the ‘hockey’ spots
Come on, that’s identical. Poor effort.
That guy Nick Barnes is Hottt

I really like it, stands out on the telly
That huddle thing the old people do has been on Telly before, when the game starts, I think it called a chakra or somethink maori like that
