Actress Magda Szubanski fronts a new national campaign for Foxtel produced by internal production unit Area 51.
The spot, which also features commentator Gerard Healy, was filmed at the MCG, Etihad Stadium and Rod Laver Arena.

IS this really the forum for retail crap like this?
This is one of those ads where you can almost see the celebrity’s credibility leaching away like gas from a balloon. Just getting her to shout the product features from three locations is an effective misuse of her equity as an interesting person to watch.
A survey a few years ago named her as the most recognisable and valuable marketing face in Australia. How the mighty have fallen.

This is a classic example of the poor quality work you get when you produce in-house. Why on earth did they use Magda, what’s the connection? It looks like they used her just because she is a celebrity. You could replace her with just about any celeb with no loss. When will marketing people ever learn.
