Gatecrasher out to reignite public’s passion for marine protection in the South West of Australia

SAVE OUR MARINE LIFE_1.jpgThe Federal Government is about to make the country’s biggest ever conservation decision when it decides whether to establish a network of marine sanctuaries in the South West of Australia. However, the draft maps have left almost all of the state’s inshore waters unprotected, ignoring many hotspots that are frequented by endangered marine life.

To create awareness and encourage community action, Gatecrasher, Perth has created two full-page press ads that launch this Friday.

Says David Mackenzie from Conservation Council of Western Australia: “At the most critical point in the campaign, we needed to both reignite community passion for marine protection and make Canberra-based decision makers sit up and take notice. These ads nailed it.”

Western Australians have until 8 August to register their concern with the Federal Minister for the Environment. For more information, visit saveourmarinelife.org.au

The ads were created by Des Hameister and Stef Langton
