Ecocreative designs unique interactive display for Adelaide airport’s recycling and waste system
Ecocreative Adelaide has created an interactive walk-through installation to announce the arrival of
Adelaide Airport’s new recycling and waste system.
The display allows waiting travellers to pass the time by exploring what happens to something after they have thrown it into the (correct) bin.
Ecocreative’s sustainable design approach underpinned the whole project.
Signage uprights
were made from thick, recycled cardboard and printed with eco-inks, while bases were re-used
from existing display infrastructure.
Display panels can be re-used at events and as wall signage, living on well after recycling has become a natural part of this busy international hub.
Once they’ve reached the end of their use, the signs can be recycled.
Says Matthew Wright-Simon, Ecocreative’s director: “To see that our work helps keep valuable resources out of landfill just gladdens my heart – and the more people recycle, the more affordable post-consumer materials become.”
The display is prominently placed in the main terminal of the airport.

what happens to the drink containers? do they go to a Charity ?can i get that the cans and glass go to a good cause in writing.
