The event aims to open discussion about the new and cutting edge ways the industry is solving briefs and engaging minds with comment from some of the top minds of Brisbane’s best agencies.

Youngbloods Queensland will be showcasing their predictions for the titanium, film and outdoor categories of the prestigious festival, which presents global awards in the advertising and creative industry.

Brisbane’s most coveted and respected advertising, digital and creative directors will form a panel to openly discuss each entrant’s merit as well as provide insight into their own experiences within the industry.

Panellist and managing director of Brisbane agency Junior, Russ Vine, is looking forward to getting a chance to view the work amongst his industry peers and rivals while sharing his knowledge about what constitutes award winning work.

Vine says: “Previewing the work that goes into Cannes is always an inspiring experience for anyone in the industry. It just makes you want to get out there and produce great work – which is essentially what all agencies aspire to.

“I’m looking forward to sharing my two cents with younger people within the industry and hearing what the representatives from other agencies think about the pick of this year’s entries.”

As a panellist, Vine believes events like this not only spark inspiration, but also promote mentorship within the industry, which he believes all agencies should play an active role in.

“There are not many opportunities outside the workplace where young people get the opportunity to collaborate with industry professionals in an open and social environment like this, so it’s important that agencies support initiatives like this to improve connectivity and mentorship within the industry.”

In addition to Russ Vine, the panel will be made up of two representatives from George Patterson Y&R, their national digital director, Rob Hudson and creative, Joshua Bartlett, as well as Pizza Capers, national marketing manager, Lincoln Patterson.

Youngbloods Queensland have also brought some impressive prizes to the table including an AdSchool course worth over $1,000 and an all expenses paid lunch with a notable professional of your chosen field.

Youngbloods Queensland will be presenting their picks for Cannes Lions on Thursday (June 23) at Limes Rooftop Bar from 6:30pm. Tickets are $15 and include a free drink on arrival and canapés. Tickets are limited and must be purchased prior to the event
