Nerissa Kavanagh returns to Sydney from Animal Logic in LA to join Prodigy as executive producer
Prodigy has appointed Nerissa Kavanagh as executive producer.
Kavanah joins Prodigy after spending the last nine years with Animal Logic – most recently at their L.A studio, as head of production and executive producer where she led the expansion of their commercial business into the US market.
During her time at Animal Logic, she worked on a number of high profile and award winning projects including Baz Luhrmann’s Chanel commercial starring Nicole Kidman (awarded Best Digital Effects & CGI @Kodak Gongs, Best Commercial VFX @ AEAF Awards, First place Special FX @ Mobius Awards), 79th Academy Awards Opener, directed by George Miller and featuring custom animation from the Oscar winning Animated Feature ‘Happy Feet’ and Comcast “Rabbit” directed by Noam Murro, the world’s most awarded commercial in 2009 according to Ad Age’s Creativity magazine.
Kavanagh returned to Sydney at the beginning of the year. “After moving home to Sydney in
January, I was up for a new challenge and a chance to broaden my experience beyond the VFX world. When the opportunity presented itself to join the team here and take my years of experience working in a high end animation and VFX environment and utilise this at the front end of production, especially with Prodigy and alongside Jonathan, was too good to pass up”.
Jonathan Samway, executive producer/managing director at Prodigy said: “I couldn’t be happier to have Nerissa join Prodigy. To have that wealth of knowledge and experience join an already great team, I have to say I feel truly lucky.”

She’s not only a talented producer, but more importantly, a great person. Jonathan’s right. He and the Prodigy team are very lucky to have her.
