AJF Partnership spots dare to test your patience

These new television spots for Dare Iced Coffee via AJF Partnership Melbourne and directed by Tim Bullock from production company Prodigy visit two situations that every bloke can relate to – surviving a painful family function and dealing with an immature mate who tests your patience to the extreme. In these times of trouble our heroes turn to Dare Iced coffee for some inspiration.

Family functions is funny. Not the other one so much.
First Hahn and now these.
A nice way to end a shitty week.
DARE used to make clever, funny ads. In comparison these are simply lame
Like them both. Well done.
The creative team should have had a DARE iced coffee before they sat down to write these ads…. they might have had a brain wave and quit the industry.
Like you’re old stuff better than your shit stuff.
Hard act following Hahn, but these are pretty nice. Yesterday they would’ve been pretty awesome.
Dare you to make a decent ad AJF.
@ 3.09….Lighten up tiger. Almost the weekend.
Like it but bad casting, the mates look similar, confusing.
Talk about fixing something that wasn’t broken.
These are nicely directed Tim, but the Planner and CD who allowed the campaign to move away from ‘uncomfortable conversations’ should consider a new career. Way to take something funny and original and turn it into pure mediocrity.
I used to like iced coffee, now I don’t.
Suddenly I’m lactose intolerant.
Bring back BMF’s campaign.
A Fucking Joke
Someone crack open a window. Something stinks.
Wow, harsh. Can I be the odd the one out and say that I actually think they’re pretty good?
Jesus, there’s some tough judges on here.
And no, I don’t work for AJF – but thought there were some clever scenarios in these and really nicely shot.
Liked the mate over the family one, just for the record.
Well done, AJ.
You’re not the odd one out dude. I like ‘em too. Very harsh feedback
Particularly harsh comments…How can people get so worked up about an ad?
If you think this is good, then you’ll never be great.
So the brand’s gone from funny-smart (the coffee moment without the moment) to bogan slapstick (this ^^)
Fuck I despair sometimes for our country. Do we really have to dumb everything down to make a sale?
Think there’s a lot of bitter ex-agency comments on here. There’s nothing wrong with these ads or the strategy. Well done AJF – I smiled when I saw the mate one on air.
If you strip it back, the idea that coffee gives you a moment of caffeine-charged clarity means they’re on the right track… but then it gets a bit befuddled.
There’s a lot to say for recognising the power of – and keeping – an existing advertising property, like the very good one created by BMF, and building on it in a brilliant phase 2, even when the account changes hands.
But it seems Australian agencies are too immature to do that.
Isn’t this work from the agency that gave us that confused Blundstone stuff with the weird baby foot and about a dozen other ideas in a 30 second ad?
Nuff said.
From insightful to frightful. What a difference an agency makes.
sheeeeiiiiiiiite
Just saw this ad with friends and they all loved it. None of them work in advertising though (or at BMF) so they wouldn’t know what they’re talking about would they? Well done AJF. You’ve upset a few apple carts in this industry, apparently – unintentionally I hope. It’s very clear to see, or should I say read that you’ve stood on some toes along the way. If this ad came out of any other number of agencies, it would be getting quite the golf clap. Well done.
terrible… really bland.
This just made it into bestads top 6 TVC’s for the week – in the world. There’s your golf clap AJF. Well done.
Just stumbled on this blog trying to search for this ad. OMG why do you guys not like this? It’s unreal. It’s pretty much half my guy friends. Hilarious.
