Kia ‘makes perfect sense’ with End of Financial year campaign via Innocean Australia, Sydney

Kia Australia, via Innocean Australia, Sydney, has launched its End of Financial Year campaign.
Says Scott Lambert, Innocean Australia creative director: “The ‘Makes perfect sense’ positioning gives us a great platform to produce surprising work that is entertaining and memorable, but at the end of the day it is still about driving traffic. This initial retail campaign is just a small taste of where we are going with the brand.”

These ads make no sense. What makes perfect sense is doing better work than this.
It’s quite obvious Pete and Tim weren’t involved in this creative.
Love the animation, is it all stop frame? Pity about the compression on the videos though. Any higher quality versions around?
starting an ad with something that makes no sense then cutting to an unrelated thing and claiming it makes sense is……. nonsense – can you see what I did there? nonsense.
Wow, love these! The animation is fantastic. @6:52 What it means is getting stung by bees / throwing yourself down a mountain doesn’t make sense. Buying good value cars does. Is it really that hard? Obviously it is…
lame random ideas totally unrelated to the product which looks like matchbox toy, well done innocea…
ps. did he really say ‘its about driving traffic’ ???
if this is a small taste i then think ive lost my appetite after just one nibble of this shit sandwich.
lazy and generic addy formula. could have bolted any old product or brand on this.
There are things that don’t make sense, here is something that does, is not an insight.
They look good.
Great work guys! love the mix of live action and 3D. Nice to see something different.
It may look different but what does that matter if the idea itself is crap?
I actually saw this on TV last night and I did notice it which is really all it needs to do for “non advertising” consumers and they will probably get a small giggle.
I did however turn to my partner and say, “Darling that is the kind of lazy advertising and creativity that shits me”.
Nice one Scotty.
Lazy formula, but they look nice.
OK… so it looks good, but idea is shit…. is that it?
I actually thought it was very watchable. In a fun Wallace and Grommit way. And for a EOFY Sale… wow… I watched it and remember it… wow again….
I do not work for client, agency or animation house.
Can we kill the nasally challenged ‘quirky’ Adam Zwar voice over now? Please?
LAZY LAZY LAZY
ZERO thinking.
Hi @8:04 – I understand that getting stung by bees and throwing yourself down a hill makes no sense and I understand that buying a good value car makes sense. What I don’t understand is what one has to do with the other? where is the connection? Apart from entertainment value the man in the bee suit adds nothing to the EOYS message. It’s bullshit work.
Dear 1:50
The craft of the two TVCs is actually the fine work of Simon Robson and the other Engine artists……not me. But thanks…
Dear 5:49
The TVCs are a combination of stop motion in the Engine studio and 3D from the Engine design/post dept.
Did I mention Engine enough ?
I find these ads really annoying – it’s a mix of the voiceover and unoriginal concept connecting events that supposedly “don’t make sense” to a product that does.
Despite this, the ads *do* look good, and the message of Kia being a “value” car is communicated effectively enough. I still can’t stand to listen to them. Meanwhile, the ad says “20kg of bees” but with a little internet research I found that the actual number is 39.4kg.
