BWM and Telstra launch T-Box campaign
Telstra has launched the next instalment in its Telstra T-Box ad campaign with two TVCs promoting access to BigPond TV’s more than 2,000 rent on demand movies. The campaign includes two TVCs, print, outdoor and digital executions, launching today.
The latest ads again feature TV personality Andrew Daddo, settling in for a movie night in front of the TV in a leopard print Snuggie. Daddo was the face of the original campaign launched in July last year.
The target audience is predominantly families with children living athome, who value family time and the ability watch what they want, whenand how they want it.

Looks like the same ad twice over to me. Also it’s the first thought that they ended up making. Lazy. Uncreative. No wonder the creatives aren’t named.
The reason why it looks like the same ad twice is because it’s the same ad twice.
Incredibly lazy.
Lynchy, shouldn’t it be:
View spot 1
View spot 1 again
That’s a giggle. Better than I was expecting. But yes, there is an uncomfortable similarity between the two spots. It’s like they recorded two different voiceovers to find one, but couldn’t decide which they liked better so went with both.
For what it’s worth, I reckon they should have gone with the first version. It’s so wonderfully over-the-top.
Again, another boring agency putting up a another boring ad.
Wow. crap ditto daddo.
Why is the aspect ratio incorrect on the movie clips? They look like they were sourced from DVD.
not bad for what it is.
First one is “drama”, second one is “kids”.
I guess that’s the difference.
Not a bad solution to get all the info over and show some clips.
Just saying…
It’s a actually not a bad retail spot trying to break out of the brand box and as such a) didn’t need Daddo (wham, bam, money for jam there mate) or b) needed to come back to the VO to complete the gag… So unfortunately, on this occasion, not worth ripping off sorry I mean borrowing.
omg, it’s an ad (2? weva) made from stock footage. who freakin cares? when i was young it was called stuff not to put on reel or pr but pays the bills.
So how come the CB piranhas will devour much better ads and yet leave this lazy piece of shit (comparatively) alone?
Or is Lynchy directing the piranhas and these were the nicest of an evil bunch?
Ivan Drago vs Mr T
Who would win? Come on!!!!!!
is the use of snuggy a weak willy-ed attempt to make this funny? All it does is make Daddo look gay – no that there is anything wrong with that……
Snuggy is irrelevant., 2:46, although one might ask why leopard-skin. This stuff is funny, and all the more so because it’s taking the piss out of itself. We need more self-deprecating work in this oh-so-serious and precious industry. A fair month’s pay for a fair day’s work for Daddo.
wtf is he wearing?
this is utter shite.
they won’t have this account for long.
Boring
Waste of time
Massive fail
I have to agree on the wardrobe choice. Wearing it makes him look like a pretentious tosser, not taking the piss out of himself. Unless it’s part of the gag, wardrobe shouldn’t be noticed.
I saw this last night and thought it was funnier than most. But I was completely thrown by that irrelevant outfit. I wonder who’s stupid idea that was.
Looks like a case of ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’.
Ivan would win for sure.
