Dick appointed Media & Marketing editor at SMH
The Sydney Morning Herald has appointed Tim Dick as the new editor of the newspaper’s Media & Marketing pages which appear each Friday in the BusinessDay section in print and online. Dick’s move to the Media & Marketing pages follows the appointment of the section’s previous editor, Julian Lee, as deputy editor of The National Times.
Dick has been the Herald’s media editor since October 2010 prior to which he was the opinion editor at the paper for two years. He is a former legal affairs reporter and Queensland correspondent, having joined the Herald in January 2003 as a refugee from the law.
Sydney Morning Herald editor Amanda Wilson said: “Tim is a highly talented journalist and we’re delighted to have his considerable skills covering what is one of the most dynamic industry sectors in Australia.
“Tim’s appointment as editor of the Media & Marketing pages is another example of the Herald’s continuing commitment to the best quality business journalism,” she said.
Wilson added that Dick would also continue to write his weekly column on the media in the Saturday Sydney Morning Herald’s News Review section.
