Greenpeacehas targeted ANZ in a campaign designed to pressure the bank into not financingnew coal power stations.
According toGreenpeace, ANZ is the biggest financer of coal power, which is endangering ourhealth, polluting the air and water, and making global warming worse, yet the bank spends millions on pushing its green credentials.
“Who isproviding the dirty money to finance dirty coal power in Australia? It’s theretail bank that claims it ‘lives in your world’ – ANZ,” says a spokespersonfor Greenpeace.
The campaign includesa one-minute video called ‘ANZ’s Dirty Secrets’ showing a man and his daughtergetting a tour of ANZ’s offices to highlight its green credentials – with everystatement discredited by evidence the little girl finds along the way.

Banks are bad, m’kay.
Good intentions. Bad acting.
