My eyes….my eyes… BMF you have forsaken me….!!!!
Who has an outdoor setting in the front of their yard.
That’s very confusing. Heaven help the half-awake consumer.
BMF have become incredibly bad in a very short space of time. That stuff for Amaysim, the Nova crap, some terrible ads for ferries and now this. Not only bad for them but bad for the entire industry I would say. Has nobody got any pride?
Absolute rubbish and a very poor rip off of the ‘Jones’ VW ad. BMF have seriously lost the plot.
How can a great agency go downhill so fast? Honestly, this was the best agency in Sydney, arguably Australia, two years ago. Did selling to photon really change it that much?
That’s what happens when you accumulate retail clients whose creative ambitions are modest. BMF have become similarly satisfied with safe, commercially viable ads and are producing reams of mostly retail work. Won’t win any awards, but pays the bills I guess.
Safe and commercially viable…fair enough, ‘what will you spend your ALDI savings on?’…reasonable, but making your neighbours jealous by getting a fountain and an outdoor setting? Is ALDI selling fountains in next weeks catalogue?
Agreed – this is absolute crap. And more concerning is why would you PR this shit in a forum known for being an extremely harsh critic.
Massive fail and the biggest concern is how far will the fall from grace go – Britney Spears far, or Photon…
Generic crap. That’s Aldi! BravoBMF you’ve summed the client up wonderfully.
Actually 11.00pm, they probably will be selling fountains.
Last year they had wheelchairs, pressure hoses, artificial limbs, hovercraft, beekeeping suits, geiger counters and decomissioned military landing craft. So why not fountains?
Jeez guys, it’s a brand spot for a retail chain in Oz. What are you all expecting, really? And when you compare it to the masterful Coles campaign currently in-market, “Down down, prices are down” this looks like Black Swan.
Don’t be too harsh on BMF for lowering their once-lofty standards. They have to do something to keep themselves in James Bond cars.
Got news for you 9:29. Aldi would probably prefer coles down down prices are down.
Keeps the customers rolling in.
Which keeps the client happy.
Which keeps the doors open.
Which keeps the staff employed.
Which keeps the economy rolling.
PLUS BONUS SIDE EFFECT – gives bored bloggers something to rant about.
Job done. Thanks for coming.
Down down for Coles is a true abomination. Not if it was a tactical retail campaign, but because it seems to have been adopted as the brand campaign.
Sadly it’s not so much an indictment on our industry, but on the general public. This truly is the rattling of a stick inside a swill bucket.
the black swan comment is gold.
With Woolies’ “price knockdown” and Coles’ “down down prices are down” how can ALDI compete?
:/
Woolies and Coles advertising is what it is. It’s all the self indulgent, try hard, everyone’s as smart as me and lives in a loft off Broadway crap that makes me want to vomit into that swill bucket 12:29.
Wow this sucks balls
9.58 you are clutching at straws……its bad – real bad – and you know it.
Don’t blame the client either – this idea should never have been presented.
