Comment-O-Meter: CB heads trade press pack



The CB Blog once again is well ahead of Australian ad trade press* competitors Australian Creative, B&T and AdNews as far as the CB Comment-O-Meter is concerned.

For the fortnight ending Saturday February 12, the CB Australian Blog – the only one of the four online trade press titles that is audited by the Audit Bureaux of Australia – posted 110 news items, and attracted 854 comments, at an average of 7.76 comments per article.
In contrast, Australian Creative posted 6 news items, which attracted 0 comments; AdNews posted 78 news items attracting 44 comments (0.56 comments per article); and B&T posted 85 news items attracting 20 comments (0.23 comments per article).
Since January 17, 2011 the CB Blog has posted 209 news items attracting 1,707 comments (average 8.16 comments per article); Australian Creative has posted 23 news items attracting 2 comments (0.08 comments per article); AdNews has posted 153 news items attracting 93 comments (0.60 comments per article); and B&T posted 162 news items attracting 39 comments (0.24 comments per article).


Whilst we can’t compare the sites using IAB data (as the others choose not to be audited), according to Alexa figures the CB Blog has a three-month global Alexa traffic rank of 70,605, compared to B&T (ranked 89,004), AdNews (ranked 108,644) and Australian Creative (ranked 925,829).
Daily time on site per user for the CB Blog is 15.23 minutes, compared to 2.85 minutes for Australian Creative, 2.35 minutes for AdNews and 2.21 minutes for B&T.
Daily page views per user over the same period for the CB Blog is 8.4 page views, compared to Australian Creative with 2.8, AdNews with 1.86 and B&T with 1.77.
The Bounce rate (the percentage of visits that consists of a single page view) for the CB Blog is lower than the others (the lower, the better) with the CB Blog at 44%. This compares to 58% for Australian Creative, 66% for AdNews and 71.4% for B&T.
*ad trade press defined by those Australian sites that also produce print editions.
