Sony Ericsson asks what it takes to be liked via live streamed online event over next eight hours
CB Exclusive – This morning, Sony Ericsson is launching the first of its Social ‘Xperiments’ to promote the Xperia range of smartphones, via agency iris Sydney.
The live online event – now streaming for the next 8 hours – involves locking a young man called Tommy in a small room for eight hours armed with only an Xperia X10, a video stream and the clothes on his back. His ultimate task is to get as many Facebook ‘likes’ as he can in the allotted time.
Viewers can interact with Tommy and set him challenges on a live stream, as well as win prizes including Xperia phones throughout the day.
Will Tommy make it through the day? Follow him now at www.sonyericsson.com/xperiments

This is pretty interesting. As they say, an experiement. Could go either way. Brave client – to be congratulated. Nice site too.
Tommy is awesome. Watch this face!
Kinda reminds me of those late night shows they had on Channel 10 when young people kept talking to the camera, convincing you to call up in an effort to win money.
very good…
Me rikey
thats awesome. well done iris.
Similar to the Kit Kat Desk Jockey from last year. Except he was live for weeks
Love it. Shame the facebook ‘like’ numbers are all over the shop – was over 600 earlier and then went back down to 300? Going to make it tough to hit 10,000 unless facebook sort that out. Good work iris.
Looks like ‘likes’ are 1035.
Very few. As is so often the case with these things. Wonder how many of the truly general public got involved, as likeable as it was.
I actually know Tommy personally, good bloke. But these online things so often just need more above the line support.

I dont think so. thats the beauty of social media.
I’m with 4:49 PM.
Just over a thousand likes. Say it cost $50k to pull the whole thing together, that’s $50 per like. Not much to like about that. Maybe that should have blown the digital budget on some of those banners nobody clicks on.
