M&C Saatchi Australia digs deep for Flood Relief

DSC_0077.JPGM&C Saatchi raised $18,000 for flood relief from a party it held on its rooftop on Tuesday night.

Agency staff  “got their Aussie” on for the Australia Day eve fundraiser that featured an Aussie BBQ, ANZAC biscuits, green and gold deserts and drinks, all supplied by M&C Saatchi for a gold coin donation.

Staff rallied around to pull together an amazing swag of prizes thatincluded music festival tickets, dinner vouchers, music, hotel stays,an Xbox 360, a Play Station 3, beauty therapy, magazine subscriptions,a signed Wallabies jersey, Aussie cricket bat etc, etc for theauctions, silent auctions, tombolas and various raffles held during thenight.

DSC_0009.JPGA highlight of the soiree was senior account manager Andrew Hendersonbeing auctioned off. M&C Saatchi Australia managing director DavidWhittle was the highest bidder, paying $350 for a week of Hendo at hisbeck and call.

Make executive producer Jacqui Ford was the top bidder with $220 forM&C Saatchi’s resident people mover Tibor Misic to drive her towork every day for a week.

As well as the big night, the team in the M&C Saatchi Sydney caféwhipped up batches of ‘Save Aussie’ burgers and cheese toasties forstaff throughout the day, with all proceeds going to The Premier’sFlood Relief.

Mr Whittle said the enthusiasm from staff and clients to get behind the event and the cause was inspiring.

“We’ve all watched the death and destruction caused by the floods inQueensland, Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania and have all wantedto reach out and help.

“What better way to do this than to come together on the eve of our nation’s birthday to lend that hand.”
