STW asks Australians to donate to the flood relief appeals at Australia Day BBQ’s next week

How to hold an Australia Day BBQ for FLOODS on January 26:

Australians have already donated over $80 million to help the flood relief efforts. Locals are rallying and volunteers sleeplessly working. It makes you proud to be Australian.

Australia Day is a week away. You’re going to hold a BBQ anyway, because that’s what Australians do. But this year, let’s do it differently!

Right between the second game of backyard cricket and the beginning of the top ten on Triple J’s countdown, pass round the hat.

Whether it’s all your spare change, $10, $20, or even more, people can chip in whatever they can afford.

Get the host or the most responsible and mathematically-inclined guest to count it up.

Donate the total to the Queensland Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal, theVariety (multi-state, including NSW, WA and QLD) Appeal or the RedCross’ Victorian Floods Appeal! Links to all of them are collected atour handy Donate Now page.

All the money is going directly to established funds though links on the site. Premiers in Qld, Red Cross (Victoria) and Variety (other states).

Follow the Appeals’ instructions to donate it straight to the Funds.You can do this in person at select locations, by cheque, internetbanking or credit card.
