Top Marketforce, Perth creative Julia Elton-Bott scores gig at Whybin\TBWA\Tequila, Sydney
Marketforce Perth art director Julia Elton-Bott is heading to Whybin/TBWA/Tequila, Sydney where she will work under new joint ECDs Matty Burton and Dave Bowman.
The move is not unexpected in Perth. It was foreshadowed in August when it was announced Elton-Bott’s fiancee, Ryan Albuino, was joining Clemenger BBDO, Sydney with creative partner Andrew Chu. Albuino and Elton-Bott are getting married in November, after which she will join him in Sydney.
Elton-Bott has been one of Perth’s leading creatives for the last five years. Her career kicked off on a high note when she won AWARD School in WA and nationally (the only WA winner to do so) in 2003. She has regularly been in the top 10 of Campaign Brief WA’s Creative Rankings and was #3 on this year’s list.
She has won Campaign Brief’s ‘The West Australian Caxton Creative Exercise’ 4 times and went within a whisker of making it 5 in a row this year. Impressively, those wins were with 3 different writers and 4 different clients: Paul Coghlan (Zu – 2006), Murray Laird (Lotto – 2007 & Crimestoppers – 2008) and Guy Howlett (IKEA – 2009).

And when do they plan on having kids? How many? What will their names be?
Is there a site to register Hewitt-style?
Jyan and Rulia.
Surely her forthcoming marriage is an opportunity to create the first triple-barrel surname, Albuino-Elton-Bott.
Wow. Thanks for the update on their relationship.
I was holding my fucking breath.
Will Campaign Brief have a photo exclusive of their wedding day, or will I have to buy New Idea?
If any agency can break them up, Whybins can.
this is so bloody funny. did she agree to give the photo did she want thsi kind of publicity. does this demean her credibility. does it deman campaign briefs credibility? its just so funny on so many levels in so many way/ more please.
Put ’em on the cover of the next hard copy Lynchy. Go on. It’ll move units amongst the suits.

If anything is DEMEANING it’s your spelling.
Everyone else should shut the fuck up – it’s not Ryan’s fault if your missus doesn’t look this good.
Welcome to Sydney, Jules, where the local time is hate o’clock.
Another huge blow to Marketforce though… their creative team was holding them together.
Fucking hell,welcome to Sydney!
Hmmm she’s the #3 ranked creative in WA but it would seem she has been in the industry 7 years without winning an actual award. How does that work? Oh right, it’s WA…
There’s definitely something in the water there 8.00PM
Isabelle Adjani is coming to Sydney?
‘This is certain to shake up the industry’ a source said. ‘Nobody is using the word foreshadowed lightly. This is big’ said another close friend.
Don’t worry Julia, they’re not all wankers in Sydney, just the ones who seem to live on this blog.
Yes, 9:19, it’s a very coquettish pose.
Jesus and I thought they were a bitchy lot over here!
First up, this posting was lifted directly from the WA blog and as such, the details were relevant to her many friends and colleagues in Perth who have truckloads of both time and respect for the happy couple both in their personal and professional lives.
I’ve been in this game for a while now and have had the pleasure of working with some incredibly talented young creatives in my role as a CD on both sides of the Tasman. Julia is way up there with the best of them. Not only is she a fantastic art director but she has a great conceptual brain and is driven to the point of obsession at times. As a result, her work has been acknowledged locally at the PADC’s etc as well as at ‘real’ award shows like Cannes, One Show, Clio, Award, Spikes etc.
(do I hear the sound of claws retracting 6.12?)
Anyway, one of the most rewarding things about this job is seeing the people you believe in go on to realise their potential and do great things. Even if this does mean leaving for bigger and better opportunities than a small market can offer.
All I can say is good luck Julia and watch out anonymous!
Seriously, you guys are a crack up. Bitter, jaded, short man syndrome, jealous – whatever it is, the whole viewership on this blog is looking at you thinking “those poor insecure bastards” . Get your hand off your knobs, go back to your chardonnay or whatever therapy you use to get over your insecurities and embrace a shit hot talent…
ps have the balls to put your names to your insults
Thanks Nige. You’re so fucking ballsy, man. An real inspiration to us all.
You’ll enjoy Whybin’s Julia, there’s a great buzz around the place these days.
People,
Don’t fuck with Julia. She might looks as cute as a box of kittens, but take the piss and she’ll claw out your eyes and shit in the bleeding sockets.
That reminds me, I have to get some promo portraits done. Got a big interview coming up.
3:33pm: Mmmm… Please describe to me what she’ll be wearing when she does this?
Thanks, 3.27, You realise you only use “An” if a word with a vowel follows? Oh…. I see what you did, you went to write “An inspiration to us all” but thought by adding “Real” you would “spice it up”? Clever! INSPIRATIONAL STUFF!!
Anyway, off to marvel at my own magnificence… you know how it goes
4.41, if you do nothing else today and I doubt you will, you have truly earned your money.
Jealous.

Wow- I’ve never read such a pathetic bitchy log in my life- what happened to old fashion courtesy and basic manners?
Clearly you are all very insecure and miserable in general – its actually quite sad.
I’ve heard she’s very talented- good luck Julia, you’ll kill it in Sydney.
Glass half full: imagine how gross the comments Lynchy has censored are.
Glass half empty: why hasn’t he censored all the above?
Congratulations Julia and Ryan!!! Welcome to Sydney 🙂
