Suncorp cuts to the chase in new commercial via George Patterson Y&R Brisbane and The Feds
Award winning director Bruce Hurwit from The Feds Sydney directs’Chase,’ the second commercial in a new branding campaign, via GPY&R Brisbane for Suncorpbank which uses humour to illustrate the fact that consumers get totalk to real people, not machines.
Hurwit joined the Feds earlier this year having decamped from NYC toSydney and has just recently teamed up with Producer Melissa Weinman. Melissa began her career as a production manager for various directors, including Peter Cherry. She then moved into producing.
Mel recently returned to work after the birth of her first child. She has spent the last six months freelancing with Plaza Films & Soma Films and is now happily ensconced at The Feds.

The strategy behind it is a bit tired, but kudos for getting a script like this through the keepers at Suncorp.
A hell of a big set-up for what it’s trying to say. Having said that, it would have been a killer to get the Hoff talking to Kit. Maybe if they hadn’t spent the budget on the set-up…
nicely shot.
A lot of banks are doing the “talk to a real person” or personal service bit, so the strategy is far from new.
At least the execution is somewhat entertaining…
