Overview: Commercial radio has a rich history spanning 85 years
that has defied generations of critics and continues to flourish. Radio
was the first “wireless” medium; the first mobile medium; the first
interactive medium via telephone; the first to use sms and email to
interact with consumers. Recently radio has also been at the forefront
on traditional media being integrated into, and working with, many
forms of new media such podcasts, streaming radio broadcasts via the
internet, mobile phone applications. The most recent radio innovation
has been the launch of digital radio. In spite of this innovative
approach radio is not seen as a “sexy” or cutting edge medium – some
say it is irrelevant and in decline despite high listener numbers, high
levels of time spent listening, and, the high popularity and intense
scrutiny of, and interest in, radio personalities.

$1000!?
Hold the phone Marjorie, we’re going to Melbourne Towne and we’re not stopping the carriage for no folk ’til we git there. Shedang! One thousand boners would buy a whole bushel of cracker-jimmies with pennies left over for a lamb-steak dinner fer every dang gal in the typing pool!
Radio sure is with it!
wow. and i mean that in a bad way.
When CRA realizes that radio is about sound & the spoken word, & forgets the silly pictures & scrolling text, I’ll pitch something up to them. In the meantime here is the wisdom of the day (well it is Sunday & I’m having a wine)…..Digital radio means better reception. Full stop.
Words (and sound effects) fail me.
