AdNews reports that Uncle Toby’s breakfast brand Cheerios, via agency McCann-Erickson, is to unveil this TV spot on Sunday to promote a new Honey & Oats variant.

I understand McCanns are Labor’s agency. Surely the most damning campaign ads would be to simply replay Abbott’s many stupid public utterances.
Why they don’t produce a series of ads featuring edits of Abbott’s most ridiculous and self-incriminating quotes is beyond me.

Shit agency puts up shit ad backed up by a ridiculous claim that, if it even has the vaguest chance of success, needs a worldwide planner, new suits, heavyweight name creatives and the complete sacking of management.

seriously, why would you post the ad? It’s an ad, that’s all it is. I don’t doubt, that in two years time, these people might do something good – but the same can be said for everyone. Don’t say it, prove it.

I spent some time at McCann in the Nineties. back when we were the third biggest agency in Sydney. When Lynchy called us the McCannery even when we won awards.
Alas, a regrettable drinking incident with a senior McCann seagull marked me as one never to darken their door again, but I do have a soft spot for the old place.
