Spiller celebrates another big win for Fallon as $150m H&R Block account comes on board
Fallon USA has been named Advertising Agency of Record for H&R Block, the world’s largest tax preparation company, taking the $150m account from DDB without a review.
The agency change reunites Fallon with former clients and current H&R Block executives Robert Turtledove, chief marketing officer and Kathy Collins, vice president of marketing.
It’s the second major win for Darren Spiller (left), Fallon’s Aussie expat national ECD – who’s currently on a well-earned holiday in Italy – and his gang of Aussie creatives, following the mega Chrysler win back in December last year, which forced BBDO to close its Detroit office. However, in June, Fallon resigned the Chrysler business to take on the larger $250m. Cadillac account.
“DDB is a world-class agency, we are proud of and grateful for the work we accomplished together, and we will continue working with Tribal DDB on several fronts,” said Turtledove. “At the same time, the ever-evolving tax industry and consumer environment often demands different marketing approaches at different times. In that spirit, and based on our previous experiences working together, we believe that Fallon is the right partner to help us grow our business going forward, and we’re excited to be working with them on next year’s Tax Season”.
“Gaining new business from past clients is always a great sign of vitality for an agency,” Chris Foster, Fallon CEO of Fallon said. “In this case we’re especially honored to be working again with two talented, brave marketers in Robert and Kathy. We look forward to working with the entire H&R Block team to drive aggressive acquisition for H&R Block’s retail and online channels.”

Then perhaps you could lock yourself inside with a video camera watching you… Still waiting to see the work. there would also have to be a computer screen inside that was permanently on campaign brief. Could you do that for us tiger? Lynchy maybe you could sponsor it.
